My name is Samantha and I will soon be the proud Momma of a Tripawd. I’m very excited, nervous and anxious. The puppy we ( John and I) are adopting is around 8 weeks old. He had his right back leg amputated this past Monday. Apparently the guy who was giving away puppies out of the back of his truck down in Iowa accidentally ran his leg over, idiot. So as soon as I saw the post on RobDars Hound Rescue facebook page I had to have her/him. Initially the couple that rescued him thought he was actually a she, they weren’t concerned with what was between the legs seeing as the puppy was injured. I wouldn’t have been either if I were them and just came across free puppies. They rescued all the puppies that day, and I am grateful that there are people out there like them.
So next week I will be picking my little guy up, who we’ve dubbed Trace, tres=3=trace. Our other dog, a Black Lab mix, is Toby. We kinda have a country theme going here, Trace Atkins and Toby Keith. Toby is a year and a half and full of energy and spunk. I just have that feeling that they will be just fine together and be best friends, adopting another dog as a puppy is helpful to the situation.

Wonderful! Congratulations and welcome to our hairy, crazy pack!
Trace already knows you are angels, and his opinion of you is the most important. We also think you two are angels.
Because Trace is so little, he will never miss a beat. You don’t have a cancer issue so you get to skip the anxiety and worry and so forth (money!) of dealing with that evil. You and Trace all get to win! Perfect!
